Hot air dryer question. Why....?

It usually takes me about three times as long to dry my hands on those hot air dryers than it takes to wash them.

Why then, in a typical UK toilet, are there three times as many basins as there are hot air dryers?

It's always puzzled me.......

Update:

Yes, some toilets do have paper towels, I much prefer them.

BUT vandals tend to mis-use them, thats why the authorities prefer to fit the hot air dryers.

In a strange way that is a extremely interesting question. I think there must be a formula like every 3 sinks = 1 hand dryer

Typically they have also provided paper towels as well.

cos loads of dirty people don't even wash their hands! I never thought about it but you're right, although there is never a queue for them!
