I have found that if you blot the spot with a paper towel to get all excess moisture out, sprinkle with baking soda and them pour vinegar on it, wait till it stops fizzing, then blot again with paper towels, this will remove any staining and more importantly, the smell so they won't use the same area again. Once dry, use a carpet shampoo following directions. I have used this solution for years when trying to house break puppies.

In a dark room with only the black light on, the urine will glow! Here are the ingredients to make the urine stain remover solution; 1 16 oz. bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide, 1 Tbsp. of Baking Soda, 1 Teas. of liquid dish detergent (regular or antibacterial). Mix all ingredients into a plastic or glass bowl (do not use metal). Stir with a plastic spoon (not metal!) until completely dissolved. Place in a plastic squirt bottle. Let the solution set for an hour before using (this is important!) for the best results ever! Test the solution on a small, hidden part of your rug, carpet or furniture (non-color set fabrics such as Indian cotton rugs may fade). Completely saturate the urine stain and allow the solution to soak in. Do not blot. Do not scrub. Do not walk on the spot. Allow to air dry. Once dry, vacuum up any residue left by the baking soda. Gentle brushing with a towel or soft brush may help. This really works

I like Nature's Miracle as well. You need to get a cleaner that breaks down the enzymes from pet pee, that way the pet won't pee there anymore. When the pee is not cleaned thoroughly, the dog will continue urinating right there, and the only way to stop that cycle is a good cleaner (made especially for pet stains), and a black light to make sure you got it all out.

I like Nature's Miracle. It's a good enzymatic cleaner, which is really important because that's the only thing that will get the smell out. You can get it at most pet stores.

You might try liquid laundry detergent, watered down with hot water, with a scrub brush. It can be used for more than just clothing. It's good for removing odors as well. Blot with a paper towel to remove excess moisture afterward.

Hope it helps! Happy Holidays! :)

A good OTC product is called "Incredible". It works great and is available at some grocery stores. My favorite is a product sold thru vets called "Equillizer"... made by Evsco. Its the best.

A cleaner with enzymes, available from the pet store, ie petco, or petsmart are good places.

Nature's Miracle is great, although a little on the pricey side (definitely worth it!)
