Piercings?
I'm 14 and have 8 piercings currently. My ears were pierced at age 3 months and my mom doesn't seem to care what I want to get pierced. My dad on the other hand gets upset if I get a new ear piercing. I love my piercings but I want to make sure I keep my dad happy at the same time. Any tips on how to keep everyone happy , besides wearing small studs?
My piercings aren't just in my ears. I have snakebites and 3 in my right ear and 3 in my left. I want my nose pierced next. ;)

If your mom doesn't care, then have her start taking you to get some piercings where your dad wont have to look at them. belly button, and there are others places... good luck!!! i love piercings and currently have 17 of them and counting!!! XOXOXOXOX

I had mine pierced years ago and although it didn't really HURT it was a strange sensation. They mark the tongue, as to where to pierce it at. Then they will clamp it with a pair of hemostats. They will tell you to take a deep breath in and to exhale and when you exhale they push the large hollowed out piercing needle through your tongue. I got really warm afterward and kind of went into shock, I walked outside the shop to get some fresh air and puked. I puked just once and once I did I felt totally fine. The healing process is what hurts when you get your tongue pierced. It will swell up, as I'm sure you know. It will be really hard to eat until the swelling goes down and you have to be avid about keeping it clean. You do NOT WANT YOUR TONGUE TO BECOME INFECTED!!! Rinse your mouth out with Listerine often!! After you eat, drink (anything besides water), or smoke (if you do). Your tongue is the fastest part of your body to heal. Actually anything inside your mouth, heals faster than anything else. You should be feeling the swelling going down in a few days afterward and by the time a week passes you should be pretty good and healed. The downside to having your tongue pierced is that it WILL DAMAGE YOUR TEETH. You may even notice that the top and bottom balls on the barbell will irritate the roof of your mouth and under your tongue. I had mine for about three years and then it suddenly started really irritating the roof of my mouth and under my tongue, so bad that i FINALLY just took it out. Good Luck :)

Best advice: Save your relationship with your dad and stop getting piercings until you are 18 or not living at home. I understand you love your piercings, I was in your situation at one point too. The last thing you want is you dad to lose respect and trust for you. Because once that relationship is screwed up, its hard to fix.
Keep the piercings you have, just hold off on getting new ones for a while. You're too young to be getting piercings in places other than your ears.

I think you should be looking into your future. I know as the wife of a business owner there is NO WAY we would hire a person full of holes or with tattoos that are visible under NORMAL office attire.
I know that I would NOT want the first person our patients see to look like a fishing lure or a circus freak.... What does that say about the type of business you run???
