It depends, no-one here can really answer that question, because there are too many factors to take into account. There are various ways of settling and if she hasn't already, she needs to find herself a good solicitor.

Although, her husband probably won't have to pay child support if the child is turning 18 and not continuing with full time education.

The child, not being 8 years of age, will have to stay with one of the parents until she reaches her 18th birthday. Most of the time the child is awarded to the mother.
