Can my cat be pregnant?
My room-mates' cat is very young, only 8 months old, and we're all wondering whether she could be pregnant. She recently was let out of the house, and was gone for about four days. We're not sure, mostly because her symptoms before she left were very...un-heat-like. There was yowling, yes, but not an excessive rubbing or spraying, or even any additional flightiness like most of the cats I've owned exhibit during their heat.
My questions are basically: is she old enough to possibly be pregnant?
Could she have been in heat, most likely her first, without some of the typical symptoms?
(And, yes, I do know how to tell when a cat is pregnant, at about four to five weeks. My mother was a vet. tech and taught me how to feel for the fetuses, as well as the fact that I've read on the subject before asking this.)
Dexter, did you consider that I used was? She could be dead, and that would have been a very callous thing to say.
However, she's not, but she lives very far away, and I want my question answered tonight. It's much to late to call her.
Nancy, I realize you have the best interests of my cat in mind.
However, she is not my cat and, most importantly, she is not yours, either. The cat will or will not be spayed as is her owners decision.

WAS a vet idiot. Ok: I used to live in a ferral cat colony so I know that yes, she can get pregnant and that sometimes cats don't exhibit the normal kind of behaivior. So feel for the fetuses when you can and get ready for kittens.

No there's no threat to the mother's lifestyles because of her brother being the daddy. Everything you have got to recognize you'll be taught out of your vet. As good, you would nonetheless get her spayed after which you would not must fear approximately a pregnant cat or kitten, however that is as much as you. I'd get her to the vet for a examine up and ask whilst you are there approximately taking good care of her whilst she's pregnant and elevating the kittens.

If she's not fixed, and she's at least six months old, then she can be pregnant. My cat I got from a friend whose 6 month kitten was out one night...

She probably is, unfortunately. Did you know that one female cat and her offspring can produce 470,000 cats in 7 years? That's a lot of good homes to look for, or a lot of euthanasia. Please spay your cat.

She could. my female cat was about the same age when she was pregnant.
