We want to be Superman, someone who dresses in a disguise to hide his awesome powers. We want to be able to throw off our daily disguises and show the world how great and powerful we truly are.
Batman is an ordinary man who dresses up to be great and powerful. Where underneath his disguise he is an ordinary man. Just like we all are.

Look at what superman can do: fly, deflect bullets, unlimited strength. Wow!
Batman is what we are, through sheer dint of will and focus of mind. He has no super powers, he glides rather than flies and can be killed. Be he has determination
