Signs of deslexia (6 year old)?

My daughter is 6 and is in the 1st grade. She is acquiring her reading skills and is doing very well. However, I've noticed that she confuses b and d and 'en' with 'ne' (she is a native French speaker) and a few other things that get switched around.

Shall I wait awhile before consulting a therapist as this may be normal in children who are learning to read?

Thanks

Update:

Thanks to all for responding... I was pretty sure that she is still in the learning phase, but I have a tendancy to worry!

When my daughter was doing this same thing I was told it was VERY normal until age 8. She was reading at the end of kindergarten but was constantly mixing the b and d and putting some numbers back words. If I were you I wouldn't worry about it right now. Maybe say something to her teacher but otherwise it is very normal.

I wouldn't worry - kids tend to get letters and number mixed up such as 6 and 9, m and n, and even numbers like 24 and 42. My daughter is in second grade and is getting better at this.

If you're really concerned, maybe her teacher could offer some help. I know my daughter's teacher in first grade reassured me that she was doing just fine and that it wasn't dyslexia, but just a common error made by children at that age. :)

My daughter has dyslexia. Your daughter is just learning give her another year or so. Those are just common mistakes for children. Keep a eye on her writing and listen to her reading before you get a therapist. These other exercises will help you discover if your child is having difficulties in other areas.

It would be quite simple to know for sure, dyslexia is a result of the eye lens remaining in a football shape instead of an oval or round shape, so some letters and numbers could be seen backwards. See, the Optomologist and he/she will let you know.

It's totally normal. My 8 year old still does that sometimes but did it all the time at 6.
