    its depend what you gonna used for your camcorder. The more function the more expensive.

    But if you want just a basic you can try

    canon mv950- with minidv

    samsung vp-dc161 or 165 -with dvd.

    When buying the camcorder you must consider: just read the source pls:

  • The best quality image comes from MiniDV cameras. In your price range there are good ones from Panasonic (GS39 and GS59) and the Sony HC26. The Elura 100 from Canon is also a great one in this price category. All are readily available at national chains such as Best Buy or Circuit City. These 3 brands are the best. Getting a DVD or Hard drive camcorder will cost you more and you will sacrifice image quality.

    In my opinion, I would buy an HD camcorder, because the quality is SO MUCH better than standard definition.
