It is all a matter of perception, and if you take off too quickly in a suburban or in a Ferrari, and a police officer sees you in the process, you can just about figure on getting something.
I don't know what his reasoning was, but most of the time, if you try to fight it, you will lose.
I agree under the circumstances, you should not have gotten a ticket, but what we think, doesn't count for spit.

Using "Suburban" and "gunning it" in the same sentance shows that you apparently haven't thought it through. Suburbans are rather large vehicles, and as such you could do a lot of damage to another vehicle (especially a compact one) if you were to hit it. You have a good point about the fact that you weren't going that fast, but nonetheless it's not a good habit to get into.

anytime you "gun it" it could be perceived as an "exhibition of speed" and is a more expensive ticket to pay...
just pay the ticket, drive carefully, and don't get another one.

yes fight it! a lot of cops give out tickets to anybody cuz they have to fill a quota! isn't that just wrong? and they always give them to the wrong people!
