it probably has a tenth of a mile left in it...just enough for you to drive it out of the sellers driveway...JK :)

A 1996 Intrepid for 300 dollars is a deal. Many Dodge vehicles share parts with many other mopar (chrysler, plymouth, jeep) brand vehicles. This is great news for you! If your car breaks soon, then youll have easy access to a replacement, and if you decide not to fix it, then many others needing the parts from your vehicle will pay you to take them off your hands. The bottom line is that it is naturally your call, and your car. If you need a vehicle for transportation, then 300 dollars is a good investment. Otherwise, keep looking. Best of luck!

As with everything its A used Car... Price is great if it will last at least 6 months...

If it has clear title, test drive it, make sure it goes through the gears up and down hills downshifts etc... Check the under side for leaks.. Look at the oil dipstick Brown ? Black? Look at the transmission dip stick Fluid Red? These are simple things...

If its clean and drives out good its worth 300.00 for sure. engine in salvage yard is 500 to 800 just if it runs... 3.5liter V6

You will need to watch everything and set a goal of getting another car in 6 to 8 months... If it last longer than that just keep saving up while its still going...

Sounds Like a to good to be true... But I bought a 1974 Fury III for 150.00 and drove it 2 years and gave it to a friend of the Family and they past it on to someone else...

    Too good to be true.

I don't think that for a Dodge with that many miles that you should go for it. Chances are something will go wrong and soon, and most likely it will be the head gasket...**My friend bought a 2000 dodge neon , 121,000 km..the head gasket went after two months now it's sitting in a parking lot he spent two grand.**

If it sounds too good to be true...

Ask about the vehicle's accident history and request a written statement that summarizes accident information.

An average vehicle accumulates 16,000 to 20,000 kilometres per year....why does have have practically double the amount for a six year old car?

Take the vehicle to your mechanic or to a diagnostic centre for a check-up before finalizing the purchase.

    good luck

p.s. this link well tell you how to pick a used car, and things to look for and ask the seller.

Test drive it and see how the engine purrs. But for 300 dollars you could put a $1,000 in rebuilt motor and still have a decent car that is a bargain. If i needed a car I'd buy it. For 300 . You could resell it and still make a couple hundred dollars even if the motor went out. BUY! That kind of car would easily bring $500-2000. Depending on shape of car & engine. Did i mention BUY IT!?

10 years old and engine turned over 2.5x. It's on its last leg. Think more than $300. Everything is worn so think about all the cash you will be putting in after the purchase. Look for something else.

also who is the idiot giving everyone a thumbs down for answering not to buy !!!

I'd be afraid of it... but for 300 bucks who cares if it doesn't last more than a year? Do have a mechanic at least look at it to make sure it wont fall apart within a week though.

Thats too much miles.... i say it'll only last for at least another month or 2 and after that... you've just waisted your money. I say be very careful when buying used/old cars. I learned that the hard way. Live and learn.

You can almost sell it for junk metal for $ 300 if it doesn't last long. Buy it.

DEFINITELY test drive, and have it looked at... $300 is suspicious... do a title search to see if there are any outstanding liens on it.
