If you are looking to have presentable coffee, coffee that looks as great as it taste? Try the senseo coffee maker. I think it uses a lot of coffee, but it looks like espresso when served. My sister and her fiance came up for the holidays and really enjoyed the french vanilla.

I've been told that I make pretty darned good coffee, and my "secret" is an old-fashioned percolator from the 1950's! You can still get percolators, but for some reason, the modern ones don't give as good a result as the older ones.
You can buy the old-fashioned ones in antique and resale shops, and the cost is usually under $10. A friend gave me the one I've got now, and I'm going to use it until it dies of exhaustion.
Make sure that the percolator is clean and that the cord isn't frayed or have melted spots. Then use the best French roast you can buy and cold bottled water.
I can almost guarantee that the result will be the best cup of coffee you will ever have. It may take a few minutes longer than a Mr. Coffee -- although the old "Speed Brew" makes 8 cups in about five minutes or so.
But the results will be so much more fragrant and good tasting!

hello. I am a bit old fashioned when it comes to my coffee. We use what is called a greca. That is a cloth filter that look like a sock and has a wire handle. You boil your water ( same amount you would put in your coffee machine, and you take your fresh ground coffee ground place it in the greca, when the water boils you pour it into the greca , which should be over another pot, this process should be done like three or four times, pouring the coffee into the greca and letting it seep out gently. it is a fast process. Just do not get burned. This will give you old fashioned tasting coffee.

I like to French Press. Add boiling water to coffee, let steep for a couple minutes, enjoy. More full bodied than drip, and cheap and easy.
Presses are available at any of your major retailers. $10-15.

My mom-in-law makes the best coffee on a cheap-o coffee maker. She uses Medalla de Oro coffee and uses in one scoop of Hershey's baking cocoa for every pot of coffee.

Buy a coffeemaker with a timer about $20 and use spring water for a tasty brew.
