How do walk up to someone who is on Chemo?

Today while shopping this young mother with a small child, had a bandana on you could tell she had lost all her hair, she had the gray cancer look, I felt so bad for her, I wanted to reach out to her, but all I did was smile at her. I can't get her off my mind, I don't even know her, but my heart is very heavy for her. I'm asking all of you to say a special prayer for her, she looked like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders, how lucky we are that we are healthy. thank you. Have a Merry Christmas.

She was probably feeling two things....

wondering if this was her last Christmas with her family

enjoying spending the day with her children.

You did the right thing by not intruding...a prayer is what she needs now.

A smile will suffice in that case. When someone is on chemotherapy, the chemicals can often seep through their skin for a few days after treatment. This is a medical fact. Although if someone is out in public, it has probably been an adequate amount of time for their system to have purged the toxins. If it's a child, a smile and a reaction like you would to any child is good. People (especially children) are hurt more when people treat them differently.

Keep thinking of her...keep this child in your heart for whenever you think things are going bad for you.

It's refreshing to see someone so compassionate in the world as you seem to be.

It's not easy but you should treat them the same as anyone else. Putting a smile on their face is not painful for them. I have alot of people with cancer in my family and just lost a aunt to it, the last thing she ever wanted was to feel the dread from everyone feeling sorry for her.

When you smiled at her you spoke volumes without saying a

word. Sometimes that is all that is needed. I have said a special

prayer for her and her family, and for you and your family.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

    AND

    MAY GOD BLESS

young children on chemo, are very self conscious, and think everyone is looking at them, a smile and hello was perfect, and I will be praying for her.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS.

You are a very compassionate person-if we had more of that in the world, it would be a much better place.

    How nice that you care.

I agree with just me. You don't walk up to someone just because they are sick unless you know them. You can walk up to them for any reason you would another stranger - for example like to ask directions.

Maybe she doesn't want you walking up to her and pointing out the fact that she has CANCER. That's just rude, do you walk up to little people too and reach out feeling bad for their short stature? No.

    You don't!

    A quick smile is

    a great way to show

    respect..friendliness..

    But.........

    Sick people do not appreciate

    others staring, touching, or

    even approaching them.
