The question is well advertised on the site. Even you're advertising it! Perhaps your questions are more specific and require answers from people who are inerested or knowledgeable regarding the topic.

Because his question is featured, and stays up at the top of the Answers page for days, while yours scrolls off in seconds flat. And because people hope they'll get some of his fame to rub off on them if they give the "best" answer. Even though his question is kinda lame. Yours is too, but hey, we all have the right.
