Your kids are old enough to understand, and the Grandson is to young to really know. I know your heart is breaking, but explain the real meaning of Christmas to them. Tell them the most important thing is your all together and in good health. tell them as soon as Dad goes back to work you will do something special.May God Bless you and yours, and may this coming year be better.

Your kids that are 16 through 18 might be able to get extra Christmas work to make up some of the difference.

Then just concentrate on the real reason for the season, the winter solstice. This is how people have celebrated this holiday since before the Christians put their name on it. Try going out and getting some greenery for around the house, a small tree, holly, mistletoe if you can find any. Much of this can be found by making a trip through the woods. Any plant that stays green in the winter will do. You can make an outing of it.

Also, you can save up to have a dinner on Christmas to celebrate making it through another year together. If you buy a turkey, the leftovers will make good meals for the rest of the week, so it isn't that expensive of a dish.

And you still don't have to go it alone. I'm sure there are other families in the neighborhood who might enjoy getting together with you to celebrate the season. Spending time with neighbors is another solstice tradition.

You don't really have to go out to buy gifts to have a good holiday season.

Call every local church you can find and explain the situation....It will be a lot of calls but I bet you get results....Also tell them you don't have the money for Christmas dinner....Call local food bank to get some food as well......Try helping your family rediscover the meaning of Christmas.....Help out elderly people in the neighborhood with home and yard chores. Offer to help at serving Christmas dinner to the poor.....Pick a night, maybe Christmas eve and go downtown and other well known spots and look at all the Christmas lights............Church on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas day. Have your family pick a name each and give something they already own to someone else in the family for Christmas....This is true sharing.....Children always envy for something their siblings have......See if local tree places will give you a tree. Explain your situation....It won't hurt them one bit......decorate tree together..............Have everyone make home made coupons for services they can do . Then give these coupons to each other....Make it clear that the coupons have to be honored......Pull out all your old photos. Sit down together and make a special photo album for each child. Have them include their own memorbilia. Leave space for the future.. You can get cheap photo Albums from Dollar Store...... They will really appreciate this book both now and later on in Adulthood....I hope this gives you some ideas.....I am sorry for your situation, especially with having children....I hope your husband finds work soon....Do another question, give your situation, but also tell where you are, city, state, and ask if there is anyone in the area that can help....You may be surprised......................... God Bless and Merry Christmas

    get some dried fruit (you can buy it for cheap in the supermarket) and stick it on a wire, then arrange it into crazy shapes, for example;

use the dates to make legs and dried apricots on a string to make a skirt for a ballerina, use almonds for shoes, figs for body and a walnut for head.

Try making a robot, a ballerina, an Indian or maybe animals: rabbit, bear....

The gifts will be cheap, but made with a lot of love and also, they will be edible and sweet!

Good luck and may all gods bless you.

Celebrate Christmas for what it is supposed to be celebrated for ^^. You and your family could be able to have a lively discussion about the following topics

1.) Christmas is full of miracles

    -Enumerate the miracles

-See if any of those miracles could be related with something that has happened recently

2.) Jesus was born (Christmas) to fix the bad things in everyone

-Discuss how everyone has bad things and why Jesus came

-Discuss about that Jesus came to change those with bad things in them

-Discuss about that everyone has some bad in them and God still accepts them

3.) Jesus Christ is the gift that has your name on it

-Discuss that everyone has gifts for them and that is Jesus

-Discuss on what Jesus can do which you have not been asking Jesus for

-Discuss on what you have been missing out with Jesus

    God bless and merry Christmas!

i just read a great story called golden wrapping paper...

little boxes were coered in gold paper.

the boxes might have seemed empty but they were filled kisses and wishes for agood year.

or you can have everyone cut out or draw what they woudl like to give the other person - if time and money were not an issue

you may opt for to the contact your interior sight fireplace dept or police station. they could actually help coaching guide you. i rather imagine in case you communicate inclusive of your Church that they're going to discover help. maximum churches are more beneficial than prepared to help as long as you attempt to help your self. i don't recognize once you've an area pronounced as Genesis on your area in spite of the undeniable fact that that is equivalent to Salvation military. they help financially and with cloth issues too. you may make cookies, and characteristic the kin help. Having promises isn't having the spirit. inclusive of your little ones being as previous as they're then they ought to understand and experience good about that. yet in case you go searching the abode you should likely discover stuff to make all of us. merely be inventive, you may make this large, it truly is getting the spirit that you want. sturdy success, and god bless,i desire issues exercising recurring.
