Did you experience a dip in your BBT around the time of implantation?

My temp dropped 1.3 degrees today ... FF says in 23% of charts resulting in pregnancy shows a one day temp drop 5 to 12 days after ovulation - I am 5 days after. Other sites say that this is a myth and does not occur... Which is it?

While many women do experience a dip in their basal body temperature at that time it is more commonly thought to be a result of an estrogen surge or a decrease in progesterone levels. It's at this time that the corpus luteum breaks down; since the corpus luteum has been producing progesterone, the result is a dip in progesterone (and it's progesterone that makes our temps rise).

I know that fertilityfriend.com says that these dips are seen more often on pregnancy charts than nonpregnancy charts, but they are still seen on plenty of nonpregnancy charts.

Basically, scientists/doctors are not sure or cannot agree on why the dip occurs, and it's presence or absence isn't an even remotely reliable indicator of pregnancy/lack of pregnancy.

For me: I know I experienced dips on several cycles at this time when I was not pregnant, and I don't remember if I had dips with any or all of my pregnant cycles.

    Good luck!
