Did you think you couldn't conceive........?

When my boyfriend and I first met he told me that he was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to have kids....I never asked how he knew that and just figured that if he wanted to tell me why he would tell me....Now I have been off the pill for 2 years and no pregnancy as yet. I am wondering if anyone else has been convinced that there was no hope for children and then got a happy surprise. I know we can adopt or foster children and we may consider that at some point...but right now I am only asking about people who have conceived when they thought it was impossible. I guess I just want some hope. Thanks

I always thought I was unable to have children because I dated my bf for six years and never used any form of birth control. We ended up pregnant a few months ago and it was a huge surprise.

I had no real reason to think I couldn't get pregnant but I was married to a man for 7 years and we never used any birth control except for the good ole 'pull and pray' method. I never got pregnant and actually tried for about 4 months. There were other times in the early part of new relationships where I was not using anything and never got pregnant so I really thought it would be a struggle for me to have a baby. However, I was on the pill and one month I couldn't find the new pack and just put it off thinking 'what are the chances?" It will be ok this one time. Well I got pregnant and then when we tried for #2 it happened on the first try. I think my ex-husband had weak sperm. I also know a lady who had to use fertility treatments to conceive her son. They were happy to only have one child but then, without trying, conceived a 2nd son and she was in her 40's.

I have had so many health problems with my cycle over the course of 10 years. And was told that it would be very difficult to get pregnant with out medical help. And that may not work either. Well after 6 months of trying, and then just kinda giving up. I became pregnant. (With out a whole lot of trying to) I am now 7 weeks along. So anything is possible. Good Luck!

A really good friend of mine tried to have a baby for 7 or 8 years. They even did all the fertility stuff (except invitro) and just couldn't get pg. Nobody was more surprised then them when they came up pregnant last year. They now have a healthy 1 year old little boy. Don't give up.

It took us 3 years to conceive our 3rd son. When we finally accepted that we just weren't going to have another and started living our lives that way; BAM we got pregnant. For me it was like as soon as we took the pressure off of our selves it happened.

Maybe you should ask him why he would make that statement maybe he went out and got a vastecomy before you... you should just ask that why your not holding out and you guys can actually start making plans to adopt.
