I can't find a sealer for my granite counter tops. What is the recipe if I were to make it myself?
It's not like I can go down the street to the local Home Depot. I live in the Philippines, and I just can't find the sealer. The people that seal granite counter tops are protecting their precious recipe, that provide for their livelihood. I'm told that I can get all the ingredients from one hardware store. And since I will need to seal the counter tops twice a year, I would rather do it myself.

the product you want is silicone sealer for tile.
as for the chemical makeup , I'm not sure what it is, however if you have to cleanup periodically, use bleach and it'll get all the yuckys out.

I agree with Mr Know-it-all. I have never heard of 'sealing' granite and I have been in the building industry for 20 years. Ya polish granite, ya don't seal it. However, I guess you have unpolished granite. Having that as a countertop is poor! Go to the nearest concrete company or concrete finishing company and explain your dilemna. I have used many different sealers for various types of stone and I get them from concrete product distributers. They won't mess with ya. They'll sell ya what you need. I personally would have someone come and polish it.
Good Luck!

Granite is non-pourus, why do you want to seal it.
Polished, sure...but sealed?
Makes no sense to me.
