Guardian Group Sweepstakes Scam???
I recieved a letter in the mail from a company called, "The Guardian Group". The letter said I had won their annual sweepstakes for $30,000 and told me if I called thier toll-free number and gave a reference number that was enclosed with the letter I could claim the prize. They also enclosed a check for about $3000 and said that money was to be used to pay for the taxes on the sweepstakes money.
Has anyone ever heard of this company or scam? I tried to find their website but there is more than one company called "The Guardian Group" and none of the websites I found fit the bill.
Any info is much appreciated, thank you.

It's a scam to get your bank info and steal all your money.

Yes, this is a scam. My sister in law recently got something similar to this. She checked it up on the Internet and got a long list of scam companies and i believe that was one of them. Also that is just one of things that are too good to be true!

Yes, this general concept is a well known scam. If you didn't enter a sweepstakes, you didn't win anything. That's just not how it works.
