Guys, it's all in good fun. Laugh a little!
How do Muslims and Jews feel about pork being the "other white meat"?
Has this ad campaign made you feel pork is any less unclean? Can you equate pork with chicken?
If nothing else, tell me what those commercials made you think, if anything.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould you prefer to believe that humans need God for morals, or that we can be moral on our own?
This isn't asking if you think we NEED God for morals or not, or if God exists or not, but merely which would you rather be the case - that humans are inherently moral with or without God or that we have to have a supreme being tell us what is moral and what isn't?
Thanks.

25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPray for these people, please?
Re: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200703... I read all the strong responses to this post and just couldn't believe the passion people showed. Quotes like "this is the worst" "it makes me sad", all for some silly people who are just making silly videos. It made me wonder what the response would be to something like this:
http://www.thesahara.net/starving.htm
I think your time would be better spend praying for THESE people. When I saw THIS, it made me cry. I just wanted to show some people the types of things they should be worried about, rather than some silly video contest.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf God is testing us, do you think that giving in to prayer could be failure?
The way I see it, if there were a God (specifically the Christian God), he would want people to learn to work things out on their own, not go begging to him to fix it for them. In this scenario, prayer would actually be failure. I think that falling for the simplicity of praying for God to make it better goes against what Christians teach as the message of God.

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes being an Atheist necessarily include having STDs and hangovers?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aqyzs...
There are multiple answers to this question that suggest as such. What would lead one to believe such a thing?
Asked by an atheist who has no STDs and only a couple hangovers.
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoJesus Bones: What about this docudrama could challenge the Christian faith?
I mean, really, why are Christians so dead-set against even the possibility that Jesus had a family? It's not like anyone was trying to prove anything beyond the possibility that our history of Jesus is a little off. I don't see how it would go against the Bible. At most the religion would have to adapt slightly to incorporate a married Jesus, but it wouldn't really contradict the Bible, as the Bible never says Jesus didn't marry and have a child. Neither does it fail to leave room for Jesus' remains to still be here on earth.
I'm not saying the actual show was all that great or compelling. Just wondering where all the resistence to the POSSIBILITY comes from. Thoughts?
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSo, prophets in Jesus' time were good, but prophets now are evil?
Many people feel that modern psychics and other such prophetic people are doing the work of the devil. However, these people and their writings were revered in earlier times. Explain this change over the years from a religious point of view.

I suppose it could work in mysterious ways.

8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoRather than completely deleting someone's Yahoo account, why doesn't Yahoo only keep that account from...
...using the Answers forum. I think that would eliminate a lot of possible problems from someone losing their email account.
At least they could send a final warning that your account will be deleted?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoDon't you think it's a little unfair?
We atheists claim that Christians will find out they are wrong when they die and there's no heaven, but that's just it - they die. There's nothing. They will never consciously know they were wrong. Atheists would never get the chance to say "See, I told you so." Isn't that so unfair?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHas Valentine's Day really become such a big deal?
I don't celebrate, so I was unaware it was such a big gift giving day. Is it really such a big deal now?

14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoEvery day should be a celebration...?
...soooo, while there is already a celebration underway today, I want you to take out your party hat and one of those blower things that make the obnoxious duck sound and celebrate being alive.
I'm going to celebrate getting my Master's degree virtually paid for by my job. What will you celebrate (besides your Valentine)?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoUsing God in some manner, how do you teach a toddler not to bite?
In teaching your toddler right from wrong and that it is wrong to bite, how do you use God to show that this is wrong?
I'm looking for some method that couldn't be used exactly the same way by an atheist, but without the God part. For example, do unto others as you would have them do unto you could just as easily be an atheist ideal.
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: How do you use God to teach your children right from wrong?
Exactly how do you incorporate religion into a basic lesson on consequences? For example, do you say "No don't bite because God wouldn't like it and you'll go to hell"? What about not doing homework on time - "You have to get good grades for God to let you excel in life"? Fighting with your sibling - "The Bible says to love thy neighbor"? And then how do you respond when they ask "Why?"
Just curious exactly how one would use God to teach children right from wrong.
