How do Muslims and Jews feel about pork being the "other white meat"?

Has this ad campaign made you feel pork is any less unclean? Can you equate pork with chicken?

If nothing else, tell me what those commercials made you think, if anything.

What do you aim at this question? God told us not to eat it, fullstop. You are implying that we ignore God and follow such ads (made by Christians)....evil of you. That is a pity.

As I've stated before, while I'm neither Muslim nor Jewish, I haven't eaten pork since childhood. All I think when I see such commercials and ads is that this is a marketing campaign meant to convince people that pork is healthy. And of course it can be, if butchered and prepared right. So can ants be healthy when raised and prepared right. It's just that food preferences set in childhood tend to stay with a person as an adult.

I have, however, taken offense at Jimmy Dean's (sausage company's) ads about the sun. Not only are they stupid, but the cloud one implies that people who like to eat cereal in the morning (as I do) are gloomy Guses who you don't want to be around.

  • The truth is that for us Jews/Muslims the commercials have no effect at all! You would think that we would scoff, comment, or think something of them, but we mostly just ignore them. This is most likely due to the fact we realize immediatly the commercials are not targeting us and thus dont really care!

as i am muslim i have never eaten pork (not on purpose anyways) like someone wrote before the commercial is just that a commercial but for those who are followers of the Bible pork is also forbidden to them they cannot eat it

but it is not hard to not eat it u just gotta be extra careful of what your food touches and where it comes from

I think it was a GREAT ad statement from the pork companies. It had people thinking pork was healthy.

It was also a total lie. ANYONE that has seen raw pork ribs knows that its RED Meat, not white at all.

I have not seen that commercial, but I did some research and I found out that pork is generally cleaner than lamb meat (which Muslims eat in their Eid). Pork also has way less cholestrol and saturated fat

Commercials, all in general, does not make me think of what they are advertising, but it is very interesting question as to what Muslims and Jews think whenever the commercial is seen. I will be looking forward what answers you get from your question.

As far as I'm concerned all animals are killed therefore we eat them and that's final. To pick which animals are worthy of being eaten is just stupid...my religion tells me not to eat meat on fridays...but i ignore that...whats the point I eat meat 6 days a week why should Friday be any different. On a seperate note white meat and pork chops are yummmy.

No different that any other two religions you may think. By the way, I found out Sunday, that the Islam has 6,000 distinct denominations and Christianity 7,000. Nothing to do with food, just interpretations.

Its not just that it is unclean it is forbidden. I've never tasted it and I am not even tempted to. Just as I've never tasted alcohol but since it his also haraam I am not even tempted. I haven't seen the commercial but it makes no difference to me.
