If God is testing us, do you think that giving in to prayer could be failure?

The way I see it, if there were a God (specifically the Christian God), he would want people to learn to work things out on their own, not go begging to him to fix it for them. In this scenario, prayer would actually be failure. I think that falling for the simplicity of praying for God to make it better goes against what Christians teach as the message of God.

He tests us to turn to Him, and not rely on our own egos or insufficient spiritual strength.

That's the test, whether we do it our way or His way.

Agreed! God loves us a ton, and wants to help us. All we have to do is ask. That does not mean we always get what we want but Joyce Meyers says "It never hurts to ask"

well, well well what a controversial question. I don't really think God likes playing games with the people on earth. - So if you need his help then ask him for it.
