Yes it can happen. There was a story in Parents magazine and also on Yahoo News: http://news.yahoo.com/s/wtae/20061122/lo_wtae/1038... I know there have been more cases but those are all I have off hand.

I've known a couple of cases like that where I live. A kinda heavy-set girl didn't know she was pregnant until her water broke. Then....a 51 year old lady who knows my mom, was being treated for going through menopause never suspected being pregnant. She started having severe abdomen pains and went to the ER only to find out that she was in labor. I don't understand how someone couldn't know they're pregnant. With each of my pregnancies, I felt my babies move from about 4 1/2 months till birth........and around the 6th and 7th month they're very active. I'll never understand how some one could not know they're pregnant until they go into labor!

i have a very good friend that did this.
she also wasn't some ignorant teen. she had one child already and was a labor and delivery nurse at the time. and she wasn't fat, she was very thin. I have a pic of her in a bikini 2 weeks before unexpectedly giving birth to an 8 lb 6 oz boy. her periods had always been irregular so missing 3-4 in a row wasn't abnormal.
no links to sources though.

Yes, there have been some but in almost all cases there are other situations that effect it - mental issues, drug use, etc. I do know one women who only realized she was pregnant 3 weeks before she delivered, but she was a drug addict who wasn't sober long enough to realize she was missing periods and she barely put on any weight.

I remember watching my local news to see a woman who claimed that a Pastrami sandwich triggered what she thought was indigestion; turns out that she was in labor!

Yes, but I can't remember where it was to give you a source.
She had her baby in the toilet(literally)....she was a bit heavy and had a irregular menstrual cycle. She went to pee and had a baby instead.
She and baby were fine.
