No, it's not really that hard. You just need someone who's very, very patient!! Before I actually got behind the wheel, I learned where the different gears were on the gear shift.
When I got behind the wheel, all I had to do was figure out the clutch and coordinate it with shifting and the gas pedal.
It probably took me about a week of evening practice before I felt comfortable.
When you do learn, make sure you do some practicing on inclines so that you know how to stop on a hill without stalling out!!!!! Or when a car pulls up too close behind you on an incline and you have no rolling room. That can really suck! I know, it happened to me.

the toughest part about driving a stick is starting from a stop, especially on a hill. after that it's just rolling and shifting. I learned to drive on a stick. If you can already drive the rest is pretty easy. Plus it will come in handy some day if you want to learn to ride a motorcycle.

I only truly learned when I bought a stick shift. You really have to use it everyday to not mind it anymore. I guess it can take a couple of months.

At first it is difficult, but then you get the hang of it. It took me one evening ( with my hubby, and a 12 pack of bud light for him ) ... and part of the next day for me by myself. I did better by myself, and loved it. No comments from a back seat driver. But anyway, i would rather drive a stick now. Good luck to ya and Merry Christmas.

It's not hard at all. Different cars have different clutches, but it's simple. Took me about 3 tries. You gotta learn in an empty parking lot so there is not any people getting annoyed with you. lol

It is not hard. All autos are different as far as the clutch goes.(Some looser than others) I learned in a 1970's VW Beetle....any car out these days has to be easier.

It is a little tough. But you just have to go about it slowly. you should be able to get around after practicing about 2 weeks. To be truly comfortable, it takes a month.
Good Luck!
