Whenever i watch video on youtube, it pauses after every few seconds. Is it normal or there's a remedy for it?

Update:

I have a broadband connection with a speed of 315kbps but don't know why video pauses in between

check system tray (down where the time is) for any programs that utilize bandwith like limewire, utorrent, realplayer, etc., etc., disable all firewalls, bypass your router and plug direct to your modem...if all that fails do a speedtest that your ISP provides (call them up and they will give you a link) if everything checks out it might be that your computer is slow. i work for timewarner cable tier 3 highspeed help desk so those are mostly the stuff we check for, i am not by any means an expert but thats what we always check for. hope that helps

It's because the video is downloading slower than it is playing, if it's a big video and you have a slow connection, try pausing it and coming back to it after a few minutes, it should be pretty much downloaded by then. If you have a fast connection then maybe there's something bogging down your internet, restarting usually helps to stop that unless you know what it is (in my case, downloading other things).

YouTube can be a little slow, especially if you're trying to watch video during peak usage.

The video needs to cache to your pc so that it streams properly.

If things are lagging out, what I do is play the video and turn off the sound. When the video finishes playing, it's now cached. Just click the "Play" button and you're good to go.

Yes that's normal. It's called buffering. The computer kinda has to recognise the feture being played. It does this with music and movies. Don't stress over the little things :P

Get a faster internet connection and/or tweak the video settings.

Either your computer is too slow or your anti virus is slowing things down too much.

Try to disable your anti virus temporarily and see whether that fixes it.

I usually restart my computer because I do alot on it which takes memory. Restarting helps me.
