With the current state of affairs in Mexico, why would anyone want to vacation there?

Lots of political violence in Mexico at the present time. Narcotics trafficing making it dangerous. Many U.S. Citizens kidnapped and missing. It's a very dangerous place to visit considering the current state of affairs in that Beautiful but dangerous country/

I am studying abroad there next semester....the rich cultural history is one reason to go, but the current political strife and social conflicts set a precedent for the region which should be observed by everyone, not just those people from Mexico

Obviously Hades has been to Mexico and 'Tony J' has never walked beyond his safe cul-de-sac. Mexico is complex and beautiful! The people are warm and inviting.

Most illegal immigrants in my life (Mexico, Poland, and others) would like to go back to their country to stay. They came because they needed more money to build houses or support family. They don't have loans like us from banks. That's only started the last few years in Mexico, so they must find ways to make money. ALL illegal immigrants from Mexico come illegally because our government simply won't allow them to come. Central and South Americans usually won't get permission from our country to come.

Safe? The safety factor is the same as visiting Los Angeles. You use the same steps as if you were visiting any city, be safe and smart. You wouldn't walk through Compton or any bad neighborhood in any city and cause attention to yourself, so how is this different?

    'Tony J' has no clue.

Mexico is no more dangerous than any other country in this world, just walk around New York housing complex..or Chicago low income neighborhoods...even small towns in this country have their share of violence, drugs and crime......is all depend on where are you going to put yourself in.....think out side the box

= Book yourself an all inclusive and stay with the group. Prices are at the best you will see in your lifetime, The shopping is at bargain prices also. Bring back a bag of Fire Opals. Should be able to barter them down to about $20 per jar.

    Happy Holidays

Because it is still beautiful there. Plus, you can stay on the boat, if it's a cruise. Some people like danger.

I'm not a Mexico vacationer for those exact reasons... but with all the cheap alcohol that's there, people don't care what's going on around them.

consistently remember Martyn Tyler commentating on a Newcastle friendly whilst Alan Shearer skyed a sitter 6ft over the bar. Tyler reported "Alan Shearer, perfecting his pre-season technique." I propose guy Utd are perfecting their early season technique.

Mexicans understand what makes Americans tick and how to help everyone have a good time, regardless of age. It's as 'abroad' as many of us are prepared to go.

    Have a good one!
