Does anyone know about taking a Gallup (behavioral) exam for a job?

I interviewed for a job and I think I did fairly well. The hiring manager informed me that, if selected, I would have to go through a Gallup survey to determine whether I would be right for the job. She also noted that there are no right or wrong answers, but if I did not pass the exam, I would NOT be selected. Does anyone know about this exam? Does anyone have any insight on what I could expect on this exam?

Since you won't get the job if you don't take the test, you have no choice but to move forward. So, that's the short answer.

The longer answer is that, in theory, some "personality profiles" are better fits to some jobs or work environments than others. As an extreme example, a hard driving, goal oriented, type A, work hard - play hard kind of person probably is not going to be a good "fit" for a job as a librarian. All you can do is take the test and hope against hope that the company has actual, statistically valid reasons to believe that people who don't fit the profile they are looking for will not be successful in the position. If that's the case, and you don't get the job because your profile doesn't match, you need to assume that you've dodged a bullet and, for better or worse, not taken a job that you would have either failed in or been unhappy in.

Sadly, I fear that many of the companies that use tools like these pick their target profiles based on assumptions, prejudice, and internal studies with so few samples as to be statistically meaningless. If that's the case with this company, and you don't get the job because of a profile mismatch, then I guess you can also walk away glad because you would have ended up working with a company whose management is basically clueless.

    Best of luck.

Or what about the fact that Romney to buying a sweat shop at a fundraiser and all I hear people talking about is libyagate and fast and the furious. This is getting real ridiculous real quick and I don't like where we're going.
