IE 7 is much more stable than 6 was, however, Fire Fox still outperforms it hands-down. The addition of tabbed browsing is nice. I have to use IE at work because a number of the secure sites that I log into will not support Fire Fox correctly. IE 7 is a significant improvement over 6 and is a must have if you don't use Fire Fox. Even if you use IE for anything, getting this update is worth the time.

I hated it, it was more bulky than IE6, it seemed like the graphics and tabbed browsing put too much work on the computer (where other browsers that have tabs did not).
It was crashing often too, but this was on a release candidate before the public release.
Just seemed like a prettier version of IE6 with long overdue features added in.
*edit*
Most of the people after my answer are recommending FireFox. It has tons of add-ons that you can download from their site, it's open source so it's constantly being worked on. It's what i'm using right now, you can get it here:

I've downloaded IE7 on my pc at work and it seems to be okay. it runs some 'phishing 'filters which is good.
On the other hand, I've downloaded the update from Yahoo for IE7 at home and when I run it, it freezes and gives me an error while opening another window from a link.
So be careful with what verion you download. IE7 seems to be okay.
Have you tried Firefox?

i have downloaded it and i HATED IT!!
i was always freezing up. and there is a security hole in it.
i would not download it until Microsoft comes out with a patch for the security problems. really i think that Fire fox, opera evan IE6 is better than it. But that's just my opinion

I don't have a problem with it...yet, but Firefox still rules. I feel more secure with using Firefox.
