Hotel in Sydney, safe, affordable, welcoming young people?
What's a good hotel for my son who is going to need to look for a place to live in Sydney Australia? He's 28, wants something affordable, safe, clean near public transportation, just for 3-5 days while he finds a rental.

Hi, not sure if your son would mind staying in a hostel. If he's fine with it, then I recommend Wake Up. I've stayed there twice (around that age too) and each time, the staff were friendly and helpful. The place was clean, bright and cheery. Plus, it's at a great location, right next to Central Station and a great bus stop with lots of bus lines. The website's url is http://www.wakeup.com.au/

Wake up Hostel. It is right across from Central Station. It is very secure and rates are definitely affordable, especially if willing to share a dorm room with up to 10 or so other people. But I believe private rooms are available also.

There is one on Hostel on Pitt St. that is pretty good. Of course, if he is coming out for work and has laptop, etc, with him, he prob won't want to stay in a hostel. For that, check out this website www.wotif.com.au. It has pretty much all hotels in Australia on a bargin. We usually look into it for work travel and personal holidays. Hope that helps!
