Okay I got you! First of stop perming and braiding your hair do one or the other; braiding does not allow for adequate mositure while perming breaks down hair continually. Secondly grease contains mineral oil which blocks your pores and does not allow your hair to breath. You need a routine so here I go!
1. Perm your hair and allow 8-10 weeks between perms. Go as long as you can.
2. Mositure, Moisture,Moisture is so important in the form of water so do not be afraid to wash often at least once a week. And it you oil your ends you will not have to trim often and no breakage just shedding which is normal
3. Eat well live well remember your body is a vessel. Take mulitvitamins and eat your fruits and protein
4.C lean your brushes and scarves and warp hair at night do not put ina pony tail
5. Be patient it will not happen over night hair grows at least an inch a month and sometimes faster depending on season but you will notice the diffrence in its health
6. Do not use the clurling iron (until a week to two weeks after a per if you can) and let hair air dry all of the time, curl your hair only twice a week along with blow drying if you must
7. Find Good Products like the following :

Actually your hair is always growing unless your mal nurished or something. But you have to keep your hair from breaking and all the things you named wont help. Braids can break off hair, relaxers break off and make hair fall out, and you shouldnt use just any old grease use a light oil. But here is somthing everyone is sleeping on; Humectress conditioner by Nexxus. Shamboosie the bald guy from Hype Hair and Sophistacates Black Hair even wrote a chapter about it in his book "Beautiful Black Hair". It is a magic potion just like he says and it can be used as a regular or leave-in conditioner or hair dress!

First of all, you are doing your hair an injustice by applying "grease" to your scalp! The heavy pomade is blocking your pores and follicles from doing their job! Secondly, water and moisture is imperative to your hair regimen. Believe it or not, your hair is growing, but what you are doing or not doing could be hindering you from seeing the growth. How do your ends look? Are they raggedy? How long do you leave your braids in? Are you putting moisture in your hair everyday? By that I mean water, not just oil moisturizer...Oil moisturizer only coats the hair when used without water...Use water first and then oil moisturizer. How often do you get relaxer touchups? Try this website...

Leave in conditioner!!
Girl less grease and more leave in conditioner. The grease actually sits on your cutical layer blocking moisture from penetrating to the cortex(center) of your hair shaft. It also scorches your hair when using hot styling tools.
Also a perm works by first disolving the sulfer bonds in your hair(waving lotion).
Then replaces them with hydrogen bonds(neutralizer)
sulfer bonds are much stronger then hydrogen. Thats why a perm makes your hair more fragile.
So for leave in conditioner use Ego Boost By bed head, The molecules are really small, so the penetrate really deep into your hair shaft. and repairs split ends like a dream. Dont use that pink bottle of conditioner for african american hair.
no more grease!! insted use Biosilk oil.
it uses silk oils and lipids to create shine and health by restoring elasticity to fragile hair... and it is great to straighten with too.
just my professional opinion.
