They are real Mexican foods however, they are made differently in Mexico. The foods that are eaten in many places that are called Mexican are a lot milder and many of the ingredients have been changed because we wouldn't eat the authentic ones. For example have you ever heard of Menudo? It is a delicious soup that is served with minced onions, oregano and lemon juice, it is the best thing for a hangover but many Americans wouldn't eat it, because of the ingredients. It contains tripe (beef stomach) and the hooves they are boiled into a thick and delicious chili soup with hominy. Never heard of it?? Because it has foods not considered tasty to us. I hope that I have been some help to you.

Burritos & Nachos not Taco Bell, It is Tex Mex. Tacos is authenic Mexican food, the corn tortilla is eaten with almost every meal. The chips are fried tortilla is usually eaten with salsa. Burritos are made from flour tortillas, but corn tortillas are widely prefer. A Mexican will never use a taco shell that Taco Bell uses, they would heat the tortilla or fried it, it taste alot better. Americans invented the pre-shaped taco shells.

That's absolutely true, foods like the taco and burrito were invented in the southwest in the early 19 hundreds. Ranchers beef and other farm grown foods went well with corn tortillas made by mexican natives/indian people. The tortillas also made the food easier to eat and more convenient. This style of food is really known as texmex.

Yes, it's true; if you want to try some 'real' Mexican food, go to a reputable Mexican restaurant and try entrees like mole, carne asada, tacos al pastor, chilaquiles, queso fundido, anything with chorizo, etc. Although sometimes an American Mexican restaurant will call something 'queso fundido' or 'chalupa' and it's totally not the authentic item, because I think they figure nobody knows any better. Oh well.

True. I live in Mexico. Food here is different in different parts of the county, just like in the states, but in the region where I live, the food is nothing like what is called Mexican food in the states.

As a mexican nutrition lover, that is a difficult call! i love crunchy tacos, by way of the indisputable fact that crunch is difficult to replace. i will extremely make tacos and that's good things yet, i'd ought to say enchiladas! they are soo scrumptious, and they're a lot harder to make wisely. the comprehend I have for the enchilada and that's deliciousness is off the charts! :-)

They've been around way longer than Taco Bell, but they are not authentic Mexican food. They do qualify as Tex-Mex.
