I don't think so. It seems like a lot of people have already left the city. My neighborhood was really quiet this morning, and I was actually able to get a cab to work! Which never happens.

Enjoy it - the best part of living in the city is being here when everyone else leaves!

    Happy Holidays!

Christmas in New York City is wonderful. Who really cares if it is crowded. It is always crowded in the city.

Things seem to quiet down on major holidays because a lot of people are out of town. A lot of the ones that stay have the day off and are at home. Sometimes the days right before and after the holiday are crazy because people are running around with luggage and the trains can be crowded.

On Christmas day, NYC will be crowded. Most restaurants and stores will be closed on Christmas day. Even many supermarkets and delis will be closed. Best thing to do is stock up today and tomorrow, so you can just stay in on Christmas Day. The only place that might be busy is the movie theatres.
