I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!! It's probally because people think Johnny Depp is so hott! Clue in People he's not! Dainel Radcliffe is F-I-N-E!!!!! Harry Potter is not as poular because people don't understnad the movies sometimes (Because the idiots/ directors/writers) leave stuff out like in the 4th movie they left out the part that the house Frank(the old man) was killed in was THE RIDDLE HOUSE)When they don't understand the moveis they don't want to take the time to pick up a book! Hello People pick up a book and BECOME SMARTER AND GET YOU FREAKIN" MINDS OFF JOHNNY DEPP!!!!!

Source(s): Me and BOOKS AND NOT LOOKIN" @ JOHNNY DEPP ALL FREAKIN' DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Johnny Depp is not hot?? Everyone's entitled to their opinion.. but.. Johnny Depp is not hot?? WTF?

Anyway, I just think Harry Potter is great for the younger crowd. I can't really sit through it.. that's just me. Pirates of the Caribbean I like.. I like the characters that the writers developed.. even the villians are cool. It's all a matter of opinion, I guess.

I'm thinking it's because the Potter Books are so popular. Books are often much better than movies because they contain so much more detail and story. People are disappointed in the movie then when things are left out or not the same as in the book.

The Pirates of the Caribean movie doesn't have a book for people to reference, so people can enjoy it for itself.

i love both! however the harry potter movies are less popular for a couple reasons

    1. they are marketed to younger people only, not adults.

    2. they are more scifi/fantasy where as pirates is more action/adventure

    3. some people consider harry potter to be for "dorks"

4 alot of relgious parents/people in general have issues with harry potters use of magic

Really? I never liked the first Pirates and I'll probably end up waiting for the sequel to come out on tv before I check it out. Harry Potter's better, in my opinion.

people read the harry potter books and have a preconceived idea of how the movie should be... in pirates of the Caribbean you don't have that so you like it just because you don't have any expectations....

  • yeah, thats the opposite for me. i am in love with the pirates of the caribbean movies. they are my favorites of all time!!!!!! i think they are so interesting ;) and i find johnny depp and orlando bloom to be incredibly sexy!!

but daniel radcliffe is pretty hot, too!!!!! and i find harry potter movies to not be as interesting for me. . .probably because i haven't read the books! but i read the first one and thought the first movie was ok. idk i should read them before i judge so much!!!

    ;)
