Are there different types of layers you can get for your hair? What kinds are there?

I want long layers but don't like it when my hair looks thinned out on the ends. I don't know what to tell them when I get my hair cut cause it's never how I wanted it really. What makes layers chunky vs. normal? A hairstylest would be the best to answer this I think.

If you want your hair to look layered, but not thinned out at the ends, ask your stylist to razor it down the front. It will give the illusion of all those layers, but without the thinning! I had the same dilemma, and that is what my hairstylist recommended. I love it! As for the second question, I don't really know... Good luck!

Layers are supposed to thin out your hair and make it less thick. It helps add shape to your hair instead of too much hair gathering. If you dont want it thinned out at the ends, tell them to thin it out rather in the middle of your hair rather than the ends and ask for less layers.

get short layers becuase they are much more noticable and they start up higher, and ur hair doesnt looked thinned. i have mondo thick hair, becuase i am a south asian, and my hair still looks the same. and for style, afterwords ask them to curl OUTWARDS the ends of the layers. u can do that for $5 extra. oh, and u dont have to get ur hair thinned. i ddnt and my hair is still thick.

Get layers that upload texture. I even have straight away hair besides; and when I straighten it, it basically falls flat. yet as quickly as you get some layers to get texture, it provides a sprint 'oomph'. Lol! good good fortune!
