    That's what the called Louis XVI, after he lost his crown in the French Revolution. The Capets were an earlier Dynasty of French Kings, but Louis in reality was from the Bourbon dynasty

    Louis VII was the King of France during the crusades. He reigned in the 1100's. Louis VIII followed the 7th, and Louis XVI was executed on January 21, 1793. He wasn't form the ancient Capet line of kings, but he was called Louis Capet in an attempt to discredit his status as king during the French Revolution.
