What was the most reported story this year, and why is it impt.?

What was the most popular story of 2006, and explain why it was important. Think really deep, and try to say other answers instead of the Iraq war and North Korea, even though they were reported the most.

Dick Cheney's hunting accident. For a solid two weeks, the pundits focused public attention on this trivial, common sort of incident.

The desperation to focus attention on the accident was an effort to distract from the real story that occurred that same week - Saddam's recordings of cabinet meetings were played by ABC Nightline, confirming accusations that Saddam's nuclear weapons program had continued. Headlines should have read, 'Accusations Against Saddam Prove True'. Leftists had devoted a lot of effort to spin the accusations against Saddam as a 'big lie' making the war in Iraq 'unjustified'. The Leftists have been proven completely incorrect, yet their allies in the media are protecting them from public understanding of the truth.

Leftist domination of the media has buried the truth in order to protect the Leftists progressively taking over our political system. This is tremendously important because, as Lenin and Stalin said, if they can dominate the public media they can take control of any nation.

    Americans beware.

Most of the Most Reported stories are celebrity stories.

They are not at all important.

The so called news is filled with trivia at the expense of informing people about things they actually need to know.

Good parody of that 'Stal' question.

The weather report. I think that's important so I can guess what to wear before I go outside.
