If you dropped dead tomorrow, how many people would show up at your funeral besides your family?

Without taking the edge off the season, here is something that I just wondered about.

If you died you can usually count on grieving relatives being there for the services and burial. Who else would be there for you and your family if you were the one in that casket? Would friends, coworkers, and neighbors be there too and in what number?

I don't know. Maybe not too many. Then again, sometimes people show up in my life (from my past) when I least expect it and I'm shocked to know they are still thinking about me. If a handful of close friends show up, I'd be happy (if I could be happy and dead at the same time, that is).

Edge off the season!? Shyt! My family would be the last ones at the service. They're a bunch of *******! Besides I'm donating my body to science and not even giving them the pleasure of knowing I'm dead!

Chances are far more people than you might think. Most people go through life thinking nobody cares for them except their family. You affect more people"s lives than you realize. We touch the lives of everyone we meet on many levels. What is a shame is that often we don't tell our friends how we feel before they die. Don't wait till the next funeral to express how you feel for someone.Do it today!

11 people and I would be happy to go. I have learned from doing genealogy that this life is a very temporary place and time.

I am not even depressed or anything like that. I just am prepared to die.

Zero. I know absolutely no one any more, and although I do keep in email touch with some friends from the past, my survivors wouldn't even know how to get in touch them.

I don't know. I pray that the Lord would bless those left behind. For you, I pray that you are a giver, for those tend to be the ones who have many to mourn for them.
