Can a Playstation 3 get a virus by surfing the internet?
In resonse to the answer below that the Playstation 3 was not a hard drive computer, that is incorrect because it does have a hard drive, it has memory, it has a processor and it can even take a usb keyboard and mouse and has it's own web browser. You can also download content from the internet onto it..... which is why I seriously worry that it could be vulnarable to viruses just like a computer. The only thing I am not sure of is the fact that it is not a Windows machine and appears to have it's own operating system.

Well, The PSP Is Much Like The PS3, With The Web Browser And The Works, And There Is No Virus Warnings For The PSP..
You Can Also Download Content To The PSP, Like Game Demos, But Sony Has Put Strict Security To Only Play Sony Computer Entertainment Approved Game Content..
And I Think That's The Case For The PS3: Sony Will Continously Put Out Updates That Will Put Better Security To It, Avoiding Any Virus Attacks..
And I Belive The Web Browser Will Let You Know If Something Is Happening, Much Like The PSP.. Something As Simple As A Javascript That Wants To Open A New Tab..
I Think Only When You Download Questionable Content On The Web Browser Is When You'll Worry, Or Go To Questionable Sites..
The PS3 Basically Is It's Own OS, With Some Usage Of Linux, I Belive..
But The PS3 Can Use Other OS, According To The Online Manual (1)..
I Think When You'll Be Using That, You Should Worry..
Overall, You Shouldn't Worry..
Sony Does Say That The PS3 Is Much Like A Computer, But You Souldn't Worry Too Much About Viruses, Spyware, And Such If You Keep Updating Your PS3's Firmware..
Hope To Help, And If You Have Any Additional Questions, Don't Hesitate To Contact Me, And I'll See What I Can Do!

It could, but it would be extreamly hard to keep the virus there. The reason being is a reset button and well, it's not a hard-drive computer.

I don't think it can. Technically, it's not a computer
