Yes. One proposed origin relates to the Last Supper. Judas, the thirteenth guest, was instrumental in the Crucifixion of Jesus, which happened on a Friday. Another is that Eve offered the apple to Adam on a Friday or the slaying of Abel happened on a Friday. Another is about an event. It is also sometimes claimed that the superstition derived from the massacre of the Knights Templar on Friday October 13, 1307. King Philip IV of France ordered the destruction of the Templars, after having claimed that they were engaged in heretical practices. Philip sent letters to his forces all over the country with instructions to open that morning. The orders were simple - seek out and arrest all known members of the Knights, slaughter those that resisted, and capture Jacques DeMolay, the last known Grand Master of the Knights Templar.

I have also heard about this comet but some sientists think that this comet might not hit earth. U might think sending a nuke and blowing it up might be a good idea but acually it wont because insted of having 1 meater hitting earth u will have thousands of tiny peaces hitting our planet. But they also have this thoery that has to do with rockets and ussing their propulsion to shift the commet of its coarse. I heard about it on NOVA. u should check out their website if u would like 2 find out.

On Friday the 13th a French King tried to destroy the Knights Templer, however he failed terribly and the day has since been considered bad luck. there are other reasons but I think that's the first recorded insidence.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with 13 not being a perfect number and Friday being the day before the Sabbath in a few religions. Maybe someone thought that evil accumilated over the week and the day before the Sabbath was the evilest because people hadn't been centered on their faith for 6 or so days.

There is no reliable evidence that Friday the 13th was considered to be especially inauspicious before the late nineteenth century, though both Friday and the number thirteen were separately identified as negative[1]. Because of this, attempts to explain the superstition with reference to historical events are speculative.

One proposed origin relates to the Last Supper. Judas, the thirteenth guest, was instrumental in the Crucifixion of Jesus, which happened on a Friday.

Other theories offered in relation to Friday suggest that Eve offered the apple to Adam on a Friday or the slaying of Abel happened on a Friday (though the Bible does not identify the days of the week when these events occurred). [2]

However, no evidence is known to link the superstition to any specific events or suggest that there is any continuity from the Middle Ages to the present day.

That is my Birthday April 13th, and I was born on Easter Sunday?

Thomas Jefferson was born on the same day as well, Herbie Hancock, etc., but the Friday thing was a serial killer that made it a point to kill on that day so there was superstitions created from that as well as the floor thirteen in an elevator and a train burth, but nowadays they dont believe in that rubbish. However you may look this all up for further factual knowledge at www.astronomy.com Thirteen has always been a magical numeral in numerology, and you might want to look up some magical sites as well to get the whole picture of timing.

Superstitious nonsense. They've been scaring people for centuries about comets on a collision course. They've never occurred. If someday it happens it won't be from any mortal's predictions.
