Anorexia is usually found in people that feel they have somehow lost control of their lives, or never had control of their lives. What they do to their own body gives them that sense of control.

At first you may have lost your appetite, but after a while, you make a conscience effort not to eat. Anorexics will over -exercise--crazy amounts--like 8 hours a day. They will also resort to bulimia if they feel they have been forced to eat.

not actually ... anorexia does not necessarily have to be because of depression or shock ... and it is not necessarily charecterised by loss of appetite and feeling that food is getting harder to swallow ... to tell you me too had this feeling ... loss of appetite and feeling that food gets hard to swallow ... for me it was followed by throwing up 99 % of times after having breakfast, so that means i had just two meals ... in one year i came down from 91 kilos/200 pounds to 65 kilos/143 pounds ... according to my height i should be 82 kilos/180 pounds .. so that was a drastic fall ... but i went to the doc and it was nothing abnormal .. .i wasnt anorexic ... he said this loss of appetite because of very simple reason ... my body had lost the capacity to contain water ... i was asked to drink lots of water ... the doc also told me loss of appetite is mostly caused due to having less water .. so now i have around 10 glasses each day and things are back to normal ... i am now 72 kilos in 6 months from 65 ... so thats good ... i suppose ...

Severely limiting the amount of food you eat, an intense fear of gaining weight, and can become dangerously thin. Severe or long-term anorexia can lead to starvation, serious health problems, and even death.

Anorexia is may seem like dieting, but it isn’t. It may start as dieting, but it grows beyond your control. Anorexia is also linked to anxiety and an intense fear of gaining weight.

It can be linked to depression and anxiety disorders. Check with your doctor.

I have had an eating disorder before. For me it hd alot to do with depression. Plus, I wanted to be skinny like alot of girls cause guys liked it better. If you just lost your appetite and aren't trying to starve it sounds like depression to me.

Anorexia is a disease that makes you believe, no matter how thin you are, you are fat. If you have lost your appetite and aren't eating, that doesn't make you anorexic. Being underweight and not eating because you think you are fat, however, does.
