What is the plot of the movie "The Village" and how does it end?

It's about a village of people in, what you believe is the late 1800s. The elders are telling the villagers that they cannot cross a boundary because there are monsters of some sort. It turns out that the elders are planting the ideas in their heads and are scaring them because they don't want them to know that...it is really modern times and the village is in the middle of a state park.

It was boring, by the way.

I love this movie!!! The plot is suspenseful: what are "those we do not speak of"? What do they want? Ivy and Lucius are in love. Lucius is hurt BADLY and Ivy the blind girl has to go to "the towns" for medicine. I can't believe you want me to give away the ending. I'll just tell you that she makes it back alive, but we find out that the creatures are just villagers trying to keep everyone safe in the village. A bit more information: all the adults in the village built the place to get away from the sick sad real world. Good story, you should give it another chance!

several wealthy people suffered violent crime in the big city and decided to develop an outpost of antiquity- 'the village'. the place is outfitted with antiques and quaint clothing and the younger members have no idea that they are actually living inside of a park. the older people pretend to be these dumb monsters to keep the younger people from trying to leave the village and finding out the truth. finally, somebody gets hurt, and the blind girl goes to get medicine and is helped by a park ranger.

A town of villagers are surrounded by the woods...supposedly the woods are full of "those of which we do not speak". they are not allowed to go into the woods or they will be killed. the main character (the blind girl played by ron howard's daughter) is going to be married to one guy (Joaquin Phoenix), but the slow kid stabs him because he is jealous. so they send the blind girl into town to get medicine for the stabbed guy. come to find out, the people on the village council are actually people who met in the 1970's at a grief management thing and decided to create a world for their kids that didn't have the violence and death the real world did. so, he lives because the blind girl gets the medicine. good movie, give it another shot...

If you got bored why do you want to know the plot and how it ended?? Isn't that why you saw it in the first place?? Just hire it and pay attention.

the blind girl leaves into the forest to go get meds for her bf she finds out that there is a moderen world outside the forest and that the elders have been keeping it a secret she saves her bf and the lie lives on.

Just watch it again! And this time pay attention!
