Do scar gels really work?

I have a small scar to the left of my mouth, it is about 7 years old. I have seen the Mederma commercials and so I picked up a tube of generic scar treatment gel at Walgreens. It says I will need to use it for several months on an old scar. I haven't started using it yet.

Has anyone had good results with scar gel?

I had surgery on my arm several years ago and the doctor gave me Mederma samples. I could really tell a difference. I would use it. I've had friends use it. I believe it works. You've bought it so you might as well use it.

When i had my gastric stapling it left 4 little but dark scars on my stomach. I bought some mederma cause i figured anything that was 30 dollars for that small of a tube had to work. I tried it and my scars are still their but their not as dark and noticeable as their were at first. I saw a huge difference. The generic offbrand kind that is compared to mederma the kind you bought might not have the same effect. Thats what sets the real thing apart from the fake ones theirs always that one ingrediant thats not the same that may be the key to the cream working so well. Good luck hope it works out for you.

    Natural Scar Removal Method

I had surgery on my arm over 10 years ago. I tried Mederma for a while, but couldn't commit to it when I wasn't seeing results soon after. I have been told Vitamin E will help. Not lotion, but get the gelcaps and puncture that and put the E oil directly on the scar.... (I dont know if it will cause break-outs on your face though). Another trick to keep the scar from darkening- ALWAYS wear sunscreen on the scar.

Yes. I used Mederma on my son when he was 6 months old for a surgery he had done on his penis. You can't tell where the scaring was and this will be very important as he becomes older. We did it every day for 6 months to help lesson the effects that scar tissue leaves.
