^^^Has no idea what he is talking about..

Set it as primary slave with the jumpers if there is an open spot in your primary IDE channel, if not use a second IDE channel if your motherboard has one and jumper it to Secondary Master. Boot up Windows, right click my computer>manage>disk management>right click on the 2nd hard drive>Partition the drive>format using NTFS> your done..

If you have an open slot on your motherboard you can run an additional hard drive by setting the jumpers to master or slave (whichever is appropriate). Windows should recognize a properly configured hard drive.

If the second drive is an external, no problem. Plugging the external drive into a USB port will assign it a drive letter.

If you want another internal, I'm not sure but I would think it would act the same way?

If you still have problems, repost the question with more info.

I have two 80 gig drives installed right in the tower on this one. I have a geeky friend who set it up after we installed the slave drive. Also, he partitioned of a small amount of the slave to act as a backup for the RAM. So, effectively, I have something like 5 gigs of RAM.

Just connect it (depending if it is internal or external - if external be sure to set it to 'master' not slave), start WinXP and you will be able to partition it, format it and WinXP will automatically assign a new drive letter to it.

Your 1st harddrive must be set to MASTER and your other harddrive must be set to slave. If you are using SATA just plug the cables and it will automatically detected.
