I want to find out who drives a car-I have the Licence plate number-where can I find that?

I promise I'm not out stalking someone-I'm the office manager at an auto shop and their's been a mix up in billing and I need to place the car with a customer-is their anywhere where I can cross-reference the licence plate number to find who owns the car? (Mississippi)

you need to go to the motor vehicle administration and fill out a form, its public information as long as the owner did not "block out" his infomration. there may be a small fee.

Why don't you just look in the car for the registration? I used to work at a transmission shop and that's what we always did (not that we mixed up cars, we were a small shop). We made the customer leave their registration in the car, because we had to test drive it afterwards to make sure it was OK and that the problem was resolved. We would have hated to get pulled over without the registration. Just a thought.

As "tlrpkgirl" stated, your local motor vehicle department will provide you, for a fee, the name of the last / current owner of the vehicle, but they WILL NOT give you their address.
