I don't think there IS a polite way to tell someone to get over you. The key word here is "TELL." Since we can't control how someone else handles a situation, the most we can do is let them know we are sad that they are hurting, and we encourage them to seek support in working through the loss. There is no way we can do this for them, though. Hope this helps.

There is no polite way to say it's over! I've been there and it nevers works to be nice, they get the wrong impression and think you will want to get back together some day.

First make sure you are over the person. Second just do it in a polite style." lListen things are not working out between me and you, your style is not me so please let us part ways as friends. I think if we remaind close friends, you and me may become bitter enemies.

You say that you are sorry, but you have moved on and so should they. then you cut off all ties and contact. so they will eventually move on, it's not up to you. they have to know there is absolutely no chance in having you in their lives. so be kind and firm and that's all u can do.

have you ever considered having a relationship with them? maybe they arent as bad as you think. If you want them to get over you then dont tease them, flirt etc...theres nothing worse than false hope.

  • I don't think there is one...so...in that case tell it to them straight. I know the truth hurts but it's better than giving them false hope!!

Tell him: I just don't like you that way, I like you as a friend (if he's asking you out constantly)

    and if you're breaking up:

I feel like it's different now. I just really like you as a friend.
