The L Word - Season 3 - Dana?

Hi. We haven't seen the third season in Australia but I got the dvd set for Christmas. I have just finished watching it. What did everyone think of the way they handled Dana's death? I love her and was expecting just the saddest scene/s in relation to her death and aftermath and it just didn't make me cry like I thought I would. I thought her death was very underrated. The only time I found really sad was when they let go of her ashes. It was just a bizarre way of handling a death scenario for me.

I was really pissed because the writers & decision makers once again got rid of a beloved character on the series. Dana and Marina were both two wonderfully developed characters who for whatever reason the show decided to cut.

Most of us could relate to Marina's heat for Jenny and heartache for the love she wanted and couldn't obtain... ZIP they cut her off and write her off the show.

I have had a hard time really feeling devoted to any of the characters.

They first develop Bette and make her a strong woman who has a hard time with committment & family. She two series later is kidnapping a child because of her devotion. What???

Tina at first is very committed to her relationship & then becomes a cheating pregnanant vendictive ***** and now is dating men. What???

Jenny is just too inconsistant & weird for me to understand. It's like they are streatching to find a new weird "cliche" for Jenny to morph into.

Alice is the only redeming character who consistantly adds flavor and humor - I am convinced they must be ready to write her off.

I am sure this is more than you wanted to know but the reason you didn't feel much is because the writing and character development is really crappy. What happened to the first season writers? How are these new writers and did they ever read a prior script.

My mother, grandmother & aunt all died of breast cancer. Heaven knows breast cancer is a issue that hits home for me too. Yet in the L Word I had a time squeezing out a tear too. I think the breast cancer button wasn't really what the L Word was trying to push and think the killing of Dana's character was more politically or money motivated. It was just all to random and poorly developed ...

Anyway, great question! Thanks for your thoughts too!

Thats troublesome. i'd would desire to go with season 4, in basic terms because of the fact. lol. Season 3 replaced into depressing. and that i ought to do without Jodie. no longer something against her, yet yeah...oh, and Cybil Sheppard's factors have been in basic terms awkward and annoying. did you already know that Kate Moennig very very nearly left rhe teach whilst she examine the script for season 3 and observed that Dana dies? She replaced into great annoyed I examine.

I think it was handled well, and it was very sad. I really loved Dana, and will miss her being on the show. I think her illness/death storyline seemed really fast. I wish they didn't kill her off.

I can't wait for season 4 to start on January 7th!
