Much of the time, a decision is required too quickly to take time to gather facts, so I draw on long experience and what Lemony Snicket might call a "moral compass." If I have the facts or can find them, I integrate them into my decisions; then I use the tests and beliefs I've worked up over a course of years to come to a conclusion. Many times I test the conclusion against facts that later come to light, so a conclusion isn't necessarily set in stone once it is made...

On legal and scientific matters of course my conclusion would be based on the facts...But when it comes to everyday living I will live my life believing what I want to believe...
