What do you think of this job title?
I'd like to know what the average person thinks when I tell them what my job title is. It is a little unusual. Please give your first impressions without looking it up.
I am an Assistive Technology Specialist
Knowing what first comes to your head will help me better explain my job to people and give them an accurate picture of my job.
I really do mean Assistive, not Assistant. Assistive Technology Specialist is the real job title I have today.

I assume you assist people with technology! Without looking it up, I assume you help the handicapped to implement technology to help them in their daily lives. Right?

Did you mean AssistANT Technology Specialist or AssistIVE Technology Specialist? From the word "Assistive", I get the impression that the job is related to the use of technology with regards to physical handicaps, such as computer assisted communications (like what Stephen Hawking uses to create speech).

I have never used the word Assistive. Is that what your job is really titled? Did you mean Assistant? It sounds like you assist a computer technician (IS a/k/a Integrated Software).

Sounds to me you work at a factory. You assist by assembling a component to a computer, maybe. You specialize on the processor component, possibly.

Actually it sounds like a contradiction. It is hard to link Assitive with Specialist, as one indicates low level of knowledge, the other high.
