Could someone explain?

I was told about a method of ovulation charting by taking a temp daily, could someone explain this to me and also any other methods that help with conception. My cycles are very regular, does that help?

If you're regular that will really help pinpoint your ovulation date. Basically what charting your temp daily does - you will see your temp rise and stay higher when you ovulate, and they will stay high for the remainder of your cycle. It really only tells you that you've ovulated after the fact because you have to wait to have three high temps before you know that you ovulated for sure. But it's still good to chart your temps because after a few months you see patterns and learn to see when you're ovulating. You can also check your cervical mucus. It will resemble raw egg whites when you are most fertile. Check out fertilityfriend.com. It explains all about charting your temp and checking your other ovulation symptoms. It's free too so that is good.

I'll summarize it for you, but I would check out fertilityfriend.com for more details. You can also chart your temps for free on this site. The site also gives valuable information about various signs of ovulation (the most common is cervical mucus that resembles raw egg whites) and the best times for conception.

BBT charts (basal body temperature) are useful tools not only for you to know if and when you ovulate, but for your OBGYN to help diagnose certain fertility problems.

You'll need to buy a basal thermometer (also called a fertility thermometer), sold at most drugstores for about $10. Take your temp every morning (preferably the same time) before you even sit up. When your temp rises about 0.5 degrees F, then you ovulated the day before. Some women don't use this method because you find out you ovulate the day after. However, for your first month charting, you can also use ovulation kits to help predict when you are ovulating. My OB just told me to have sex every other day from days 10 -20 of my cycle. If your cycle is very regular, then you could be ovulating regularly, but not necessarily. My cycles were regular, but I wasn't always ovulating. By reviewing my charts, my OB saw this and gave me Clomid to help me ovulate. I have a healthy baby girl now.

    Best of luck to you.

most women ovulate 14 days before the next period. i had, 32day periods, so i ovulated day 18. it took us 4months of trying to conceive.

fertilityfriend.com has a charting system, so go and buy a ovuolation thermometer from teh chemist. plus the cervical mucus changes, but im not sure in what cycle they go in. good luck.

if you cant be bothere with all that, have sex every 2 days, as this gives the man enough time to make up good/enough sperm. and you will have sex around when you ovulate, the egg stays fertile for 48hours. but there is only a 25% chance of conceiving, even if you do everything right. GOOD LUCK

I had the same question, and I went to my doctor and she told me that you don't necessarily ovulate on day 14. Paying attention to prime time ovulation, will not always work. She told me that studies have shown that an egg can be released any time during the cycle. It is possible that more than one egg can be released. Your best bet...it to have sex every other day. This way, you further your chances of becoming pregnant. Good luck to you, I hope this informatin is helpful!

Yep having a regular period helps! The basal temp method is super easy and my best friend got prego super fast from it... All you do is take your temp BEFORE you get out of bed at the SAME time EVERYDAY. Record it and when your temp goes up you are just starting to ovulate. It does take one whole month to get a base line though. I would say if you have a super regular period just time it. The best ovulation prediction place that I like is

    http://www.babycenter.com/calculators/ovulation/

all you do is type in your current knowns (when you get yur period) and it will tell you....

    good luck!!!!!!!!
