Do you live in the USA and feel bad about the hanging of a terrorist?
I see a lot of people screaming "politics" at this. But can you seriously say - if you are a US citizen and you step away from politics- that this devil being gone does not reduce terrorism? People would have taken his commands from prision and killed themselves to KILL US AND OUR CHILDREN. He now has now words left. I am not a Rep or Dem.... but my children are safer that this one freak is gone.
Just realized- all mass murderers should - we should ship to Austaralia. Thanks deb... if you can change em.. you can have em.
Thinks must be different down under... as you say- Yea for you.
Kenny- the whole haning thing.. his country- their rules.

I don't feel bad about it. Saddam didn't matter to me.
But I still don't think that Saddam's execution makes America safer.

I think it sends a clear message to all the other terrorists. Why do you think Osama Bin Laden has been in hiding for so long? He's a coward who knows what his deserved punishment is and is hanging on for as long as he can to try to spread more evil from whatever rock he has crawled under. He should live in fear. We have now seen a very strong message that the terrorists of the world will be hunted down like dogs. They will be found and they will be executed for their crimes. And God help them with the punishment they are going to receive when they are standing face-to-face with God.

it's a controversial issue, i don't know. It's sad to see any human life destroyed, especially in a cruel way. But also, he killed a lot of people. Personally, I think life in prison would have been appropriate. I also wonder why the U.S. hasn't focused more on other places like dictators in the Congo, North Korea, etc. Makes me a little suspicious.
I don't think anyone should rejoyce at the suffering of another human being, but then again I can't really say because none of my family members were killed by Saddam

I don't feel bad at all, but I don't feel safer that he is gone. I do feel that some justice has been done. To second someone else, the US may not have people blowing themselves up on public transportation, but it is not as safe as many people assert it to be. Don't get me wrong, I'd never want to live anywhere else, but the US is still dangerous, regardless of Saddam.

Saddam was never a threat to Americans. He had virtually nothing to do w/ 911.... His hanging though just, will not in any way reduce terrorism, if anything it will ramp it up, by all the fanatics doing terrible things in Saddams name. His political party has vowed revenge on Americans, so it will escalate to a certain degree, for a bit.
Saddam Hussein was a terrible man, he slaughtered his own people, but he was NEVER a credible threat to America.

You really believe that one death changes something??? Can death ever change things to better? Are we safer now when Saddam's gone? Not at all. And yeah, I feel bad because it's all about politics. How many leaders in this world are as guilty as Saddam???
Sorry, but I'm not so persuaded that this has changed anything.

I live in Australia and am ashamed to be involved in the whole sorry episode!
In Australia the death penalty is outlawed. Hurray for us.
How is this right? And who are we to decide that he 'deserved' to die. I bet the thousands of families whose children were killed through American sanctions (yes, we actually stopped medicine from getting through) and the families who had loved ones killed by murderous bombs would prefer to see George Bush hanging from the rope.
Or is it only okay to kill when we are the ones doing it? Its not okay for Saddam, but George - hes got a license to kill coz his MOTIVES are good. Yeah right.
This is a dark day for justice.

this is one of yes questions. Yes he was evil, and he did a lot of really bad things and I am glad that he is gone. But I know that or I think that his family is sad or maybe they feel just a lot of regret for what he has done and maybe they even feel a little sad that he is gone.

We don't have proof he is gone. Sure, they say he is gone, but he has been here long enough that he could of planned this day down to every second. Replace him with a look-alike, hang the fake, get Saddam out of here, BOOM! I hope he is gone, Saddam is not afraid to hurt us...

Feeling bad??....I'm having a par-tee!!
To Deborah in Australia:
"We" didn't decide Saddam's fate to live or die. He was tried in an Iraqi court by an Iraqi judge, he was found guilty by a jury of Iraqis and sentenced to death and executed according to Iraqi law. Regarding the sanctions, they were imposed by the UN, not us. Also, Saddam was getting the money for medicines and stuff to his people through "oil for food" fiasco, but he decided building more golden palaces with the money was more convenient than buying food or medicine to his suffering country. Try to inform yourself better next time you condemn our country.

Bin Laden was the terrorist. Hussein was evil, but he wasn't going to mess with the US ever again after the first Gulf War.
