I must agree that Kobe is the most selfish player in the history of the NBA.

He was drafted by the charlotte hornets in 96', and then traded to LA for Vlade Divac, if you recall.

I watched an interview of him after the Christmas game vs. the Heat, and he complained about people accusing him of being selfish, saying that he simply does what is needed for his team to win... sorry, Kobe. I'm not buying it!!!

AI's not selfish, he wasn't getting much help in Philly. Anyone who saw him play for the US in the 2004 Olympics would have seen him doing a lot to make that team work and play better. He is a good playmaker, good passer, and now that he's in Denver, people will now get to see how unselfish a player he is on a regular basis. And Kobe is one of the best passing 2 guards in the league. You have to look at a lot more ball if you just settle on those two as most selfish

Now, Vince Carter doesn't make anyone around him better. In Toronto, when he was trying to get traded, on a final play while he was in Toronto, he actually told the other eam what the inbounds play was, saying "it's a flare, it's a flare," and it was a flare. That's selfish.

Stephon Marbury had the nerve to call himself the best point guard in the league when he didn't have the record to back it up, and still doesn't.

Erick Dampier had the nerve to call himself the best center in the Western Conference when he never played at a level that came close to justifying that statement.

The simple fact that Michael Olowokandi sucks as bad as he does, yet continues to play and take a teams money, is the height of selfish.

And then there's Latrell Sprewell. Chokes his coach, almost singlehandedly destroyed the T'Wolves season the last year he played there, and is now out of a job because no one wants him on their teams makes him about the most selfish player in recent NBA history.

Kobe Bryant to the Charlotte Hornets in 1996

4 guys come to mind- Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, and Stephon Marbury. 76ers, Hornets, Bulls, Bucks. Of these for, I'm going to have to commend the Hornets for winning this honor - and then being smart enough to trade offending player to LA.

Do all of the Knicks recent signings count though?

I'm guessing that you are talking about someone that you think no one will get.

So the answer is - Minneapolis Lakers, drafting Elgin Baylor. Only person with over 20,000 career FGA with less than .435 FG%.

Not calling any names but in the Lakers vs. Bobcats game that went into 3 over times, the Lakers as a team had exactly 100 field goal attempts. Somebody on the Laker's took "45" of those attempts. You do the math.

Why all this hate on Kobe? The man is trying to be a team player. I know he scored 58 points last night and lost, but i mean come on the man is trying. Anyhow, I would say Wilt Chamberlain, 50.4PPG game in a season and like 2 assists that same year? You can say he didn't have a supporting cast but teams triple teamed him......some one was open. There was a reason he only won 2 championships and Russel won 11.

The Charlotte Hornets in the 1st round of the 1996 draft, 13th pick: Kobe Bryant. Changed his number to one up Michael Jordan. selfish? I think so.
